🏫What Did I Learn Today?

I learned the concept of temptation bundling. Which in effect is attaching a habit you need to a habit you want. The idea is that eventually you subconsciously begin to attribute the reward of the habit you want to do with the action of the habit you need to do. After I [CURRENT HABIT], I will [HABIT I NEED]. After [HABIT I NEED], I will [HABIT I WANT].

This goes in line with the habit loop which is as follows:

  1. Cue - Something triggers the habit
  2. Craving - Because of the cue you now have a craving for something
  3. Response - To fulfill your craving you take a particular response
  4. Reward - The response you took produces a reward (the satisfaction of your craving) which further strengthens the habit loop.

🥡Key Takeaway

To create a habit, find a way to make it attractive. Oftentimes, the easiest way to do this is by attaching it to a habit we already find attractive.
